Great place and amazing food - would definitely recommend trying. However, in our taste some of the dishes had way to much acidity and with respect to service it was really good and the staff were nice, but to us there comes a point where it get a bit annoying to continually be asked if it is a great evening etc.

Me and my girlfriend visited De Librije in a fantastic sunny weekend at the end of September and also stayed at the hotel. The overall experience is simply spectacular and it’s a pure gem in the hospitality industry in the Netherlands and in the whole World. From arrival to departure it feels like being in a fairytale. From the welcome cocktail in the garden to the staff waiting down the stairs to escort you to the restaurant. Of course some dishes stand out more than others but it’s the whole journey throughout Dutch cuisine and ingredients that is spectacular. The wine menu is not one of the most extensive ones I’ve seen in a restaurant like this but there are some true gems at very fair prices for such a location that are worth the visit. The breakfast the morning after was the final cherry on the cake to this experience. De Librije full experience is the perfect place to celebrate something special.

This is a must on your list if you are looking for a unique lodging and dining experience. In September, I had an overnight package which included an 8 course dinner and breakfast. This was truly a magically experience as soon I stepped out of the car. The Restaurant+hotel is located in an 18th century women’s prison. The atmosphere and dishes were so creative and thoughtful. One of my favorite dishes had a smoked dehydrated sour cream with Biquinho peppers.

Great experience. We stayed in the hotel for 1 night, had amazing dinner and lovely breakfast. It wasn't our first visit in a restaurant with Michelin stars, so we knew what to expect (and BTW, it's sometimes hard to tell the difference between 1, 2 or 3 ), but we really enjoyed it. Everything was well organised, staff was friendly and professional, we had a quick tour in the kitchen and small chat with owners at the beginning of the dinner. Overall - unforgettable memories. To be fair - it was not ideal, few details could be done better/differently (mostly at the hotel aspect of the experience), but it might be unnoticeable to other guests, so it's not affecting my rating.

The most amazing meal I have ever had, it was our first time in this restaurant and we highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Holland and the great city of Zwolle, First the food was unbelievable the unique way it was served and the most delicious flavors from beginning to end it was an enjoyable journey for the palate and it seemed to have no end throughout the evening and left us wanting for more and then to add to this the service and welcoming attitudes from all the staff led by the chef himself who took the time from his busy schedule to acknowledge both me and my wife after which we were taken on a tour of the kitchen which was a model of cleanliness and precision, add to this the atmosphere and perfect lighting and decor throughout the restaurant. This restaurant is the best experience one can have it is beyond the food it leaves you wanting for more and yet extremely satisfied.
